Had a discussion at lunchtime about a taxi letting someone out in a no-stopping area and the police issuing a ticket to the passenger who was getting out.
If you're in a taxi, who's responsible for where the taxi parks? Surely it must be the driver as they have overall control in this department?
Hmmm. Yes, I thought the rule of thumb was always 'driver responsible'. Of course, if the customer plausibly lied to the driver about the non-stopping-ness you could see ambiguity, but even so.
