The Cheerful Insanity of Me

Election Poll

As it's EU election day, it seems appropriate to have an election poll, to see what the EU representation would be if voted for entirely by people who stumble on this post.

Secret ballot, so detailed results not viewable (although shockingly lj doesn't seem to let me make them unviewable to me, so I'll just have to promise not to look and hope that wills suffice).

Don't feel you have to vote for the same party as you did in the real thing (because of course you have all voted, haven't you?) or even for a party that is represented in your constituency.

Full list of parties below taken from the BBC.

Of course, only one vote (although I've had to split it into separate polls as there seem to be lots of random parties).

What the hell is the Roman Party?????

Could we wind up voting in a bunch of centurions or something?

I wondered too! Found some info here:
http://northstandchat.com/showthread.php?t=151746
Seems to be a one-nutter party, basically.

That's quite good grammar for Reading. *ashamed*

What does any of that have to do with the Romans? :s

We have a Roman Party candidate here.. I thought it was just a local thing.

More importantly, what did they ever do for us?

I half considered voting for "Europe - Democracy - Esperanto" simply because of their silly little goal of making Esperanto into the official working language of Europe.

(Well, silly not in the sense that it wouldn't work out somehow, but in the sense that the idea has a snowball's chance in hell.)

You do know you could have had that all as one question? The poll creator won't let you have a huge number of options, but if you use it to create the poll with as many options as it will let you, and edit the HTML, then you can have a big poll.

ooo cunning

Didn't think of trying that

Will remember for next time

Thanks

LOL! I was about to say the same!!

I've had to split it into separate polls

You don't have to; the limitation on 15 choices per question is a limitation of the Poll Creator -- the database limitation is 255 choices per question (and 255 questions per poll).

So you can either let the Poll Creator create the code for 15 choices and copy-paste the code to add some more choices; or let the creator do it in several questions but then delete the bit of code that closes one question and starts the next.

Just something to know for next time :)

The not being able to add a poll to add another option is sometimes yucky, though.

I can't submit the second poll; did you originally post it in a non-public entry?

Try again now, I've set it to public now

Yes, that works.

(If you don't want the entry to appear on other users' friends pages, you can set it to "Date Out of Order".)

you can set it to "Date Out of Order"

I believe I already did when I made it public :-)

Thanks anyway
